Silesius Wrocław Poetry Award

Established in 2008, the award aims at rewarding and promoting the most eminent works and authors of Polish poetry. It is founded by the city of Wrocław, and its name comes from Silesian Baroque poet Angelus Silesius. The award is presented in three categories: lifetime achievement (100 000 PLN), book of the year (50 000 PLN) and debut of the year (15 000 PLN). Since 2020, also all nominees receive a financial award in the sum of 5000 PLN. Among the winners of Silesius for lifetime achievement, there are: Tadeusz Różewicz, Stanisław Barańczak, Urszula Kozioł, Marcin Świetlicki, Krystyna Miłobędzka, Darek Foks, Bohdan Zadura, Ewa Lipska, Eugeniusz Tkaczyszyn-Dycki, Ryszard Krynicki and Marcin Sendecki. The operator of the award is Wrocław Literature House.
