Residencies and competitions
Wrocław Literature House systematically develops the offer of residency stays for literary professionals. Since 2018, the project of literary residencies at the Broumov Monastery, in cooperation with CzechLit – Czech Literary Centre in Prague, has been implemented. Writers from the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany can apply for one-month stays in the small historic town of Broumov, located in the Sudeten Mountains. Since 2020, three-months long literary residencies are offered to winners of the Natalya Gorbanevskaya Readers’ Award accompanying the Angelus Central European Literature Award.
Currently, Wrocław Literature House offers several residency programmes for authors and illustrators:
- Literary residencies in Broumov (for writers, illustrators and authors of graphic novels from around Poland)
- Residencies at Wisława Szymborska’s apartment (for poets related to the Lower Silesia region)
- Residencies of the UNESCO Cities of Literature – Kraków and Wrocław (for writers associated with one of the two cities)
- Natalya Gorbanevskaya’s Scholarship
